Day 9: Minora -i Kalyan

Image
Hello 🤩🤩🤩👋👋👋    I am going to share with you my adventures to Minaret Kalyan . Our  guide  were Shoyimova J. and  M. Nosirova . The Kalyan Minaret is the last surviving fragment of the Kara-khanid era mosque built by Mohammad Arslan Khan in 1127, predating the Mongol conquests. It is one of only a handful of buildings to wholly or partially survive Genghis Khan's invasions (other surviving examples being the Ismail Samani Mausoleum, the south facade of the Magok-i-Attari Mosque, the rear wall of the Namazgah Mosque, and several buildings in nearby Vobkent). Standing tall at 45.6 meters, this unlikely survivor of the city's early days—which so astonished Genghis Khan that he refused to order its destruction—continues to serve as the centerpiece of the city at the Po-i-Kalyan square.    The present minaret was designed by an architect named Usto (Master) Bako, who took precautions to ensure the minaret's survival. First, he dug...

Day 6:. SITORI-I-MOKHI KHOSA

Image
Good afternoon my dears ☺️☺️☺️☺️✨✨✨ Our today's trip to Sitora-i Mohi xossa, luxurious palace of Bukhara Emirates         Sitori-i-Mokhi Khosa (or Sitorai) is the Summer Palace of the last emirs of Bukhara located just 4 km north from the city center. It is a charming place that shows the luxurious lifestyle that the emirs were enjoying in their time. If you have seen any European historical palaces you will feel there is something similar in this place but at the same time also something very Eastern oriental mixed with it. It is one of the examples of the economic and cultural upsurge that took place in Uzbekistan in the late 19th and early 20th centuries which coincided with an increased interest in European art. Under this European influence, a new artistic style blending Western and Eastern themes developed here, growing particularly prominent in the field of design. The construction of the palace was initiated by the third-to-last Emir of Bukh...
