Day 7: Ark citedal

   Hello 🤩🤩🤩🤩

Today I want to share with you my visit to Ark citedal and our today's guides were Jasmin Yakubova and  Mekhrinigor  Majitova .

This place has its own beautiful history. According to legend, Siyavush, a young youth, wanted to marry the daughter of the ruler of Afrosiab. Afrosiab said that he would give his beloved daughter in marriage if the young man had the strength to build a fortress on a bull's hide, to which the young man agreed. A smart guy made a carpet out of skin, on which he erected an incredible citadel. At the moment, Ark is the oldest archaeological monument. It takes your breath away just to look at it.

 Photos from our trip ☺️☺️☺️:

Ark Citadel is the most ancient monument of  Bukhara. According to the archaeological excavations, the citadel belongs to IV-III centuries. Fortress area is 3.9 hectares. It is a rectangular building, a little stretching from west to east. The front gate to the citadel framed by two towers. Currently, the height of the citadel walls is from 16 to 20 metre and the length of the walls is 789 metre. During its long history, Ark had repeatedly been destroyed but was restored again.
